In doing so, two families with a long association with the real estate industry brought together generations of experience and expertise commencing when Robert’s great, great grandfather established the auctioneer and general merchant firm of C.J. Weedon & Co. in 1842.
Successive generations of direct descendants of C.J. Weedon were actively involved with that firm on a continuous basis for the next 140 years.
Robert, like his father, C.A. (Tom) Harrison and his grandfather Percy Harrison before him was a qualified Valuer and all were partners in, or employed by, the firm of C.J. Weedon & Co. from 1900 through to 1983.
James Humphreys was a real estate agent and property developer in Launceston from the late 1950s through to the mid 1980s.
Gordon Humphreys was a commercial lawyer in Launceston for a period of 15 years before commencing business with Robert Harrison.
Ben Humphreys, Gordon’s eldest son, has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a qualified Accountant who had worked in private practice and in the corporate world in the UK before he joined the firm in 2004.
Tom Harrison, Robert’s eldest son, has a Bachelor of Commerce and worked in Corporate recruitment in private practice in the UK and in Melbourne before he joined the firm in 2012.
In 2014 ownership and management of the business was passed over to Ben and Tom with Robert and Gordon remaining actively involved but in the capacity of working Consultants to the firm.
